Sawyer Aviation Chief Instructor Requirements
·
Must meet all F.A.R. 141 Chief Instructor requirements
(excluding examining authority)
·
Must be rated as a
CFI, CFII, and MEI
·
2+
years as CFI, 3+ years preferred
·
1000
hours of pilot in command flight time required, 2000 preferred
·
Worked as Chief or Assistant Chief in 141 training environment
·
2+
years of recent aviation and aviation-related management experience
preferred.
·
BA/BS required
·
Must have a valid second-class medical
·
Applicants must be
U.S. Citizens or
U.S. Permanent Residents (i.e. 'Green Card Holders')
·
Outstanding management and leadership capabilities
Compensation:
·
Annual compensation ($75,000 - $55,000) based on performance
·
Base
plus billable time
o
Bonus
escalator based on entire department’s performance
o
Rate
paid for billable flight time escalates based on quantity
o
Additional hourly-bonus incentives for certain types of training
o
Bonuses for student enrollment, performance and successful
completion
·
Revenue sharing from ground schools and seminars
·
Bonuses up to $2,250 per customer (Private, Instrument, Multi &
Commercial combined) for new-student enrollment, student
performance, successful completion rate and/or sales referrals
·
Monthly cell phone allowance
·
Use
of company owned aircraft for personal use

Ability to fly Part 91 managed aircraft owner flights – available

Turbojet type rating [SIC] and jet flight time after six-months –

Sawyer Aviation Chief Instructor Duties:
·
Promotion, advancement standardization and management of the Sawyer
Aviation flight training department products, services, personnel,
policies & procedures.
·
10-20
office hours per week (training
CFI’s; and development, implementation & monitoring of
systems, programs and company procedures)
·
Responsible for weekly status report and strategy meetings
·
Strategize, plan and implement events & promotions working in
concert with Flight School Manager and other Sawyer team members
·
Immediate reinstatement & management of 141 status and compliance
·
Mentor, train and evaluate pilot staff. Through regularly scheduled
instructor meetings, quarterly flight & instruction checks,
maintenance of training & evaluation records
·
Survey trade journals, other aviation companies & complementary
businesses’ practice (actively or passively) for strategic awareness
·
Maintain liaison with Scottsdale FSDO and ensure compliance with all
applicable FAA rules and regulations
·
Assist in recruitment and retention of flight students
·
Responsible for certifying training records, graduation certificates
and stage and final test reports
·
Continually assist, counsel and resolve issues as needed
·
Responsible for conducting an initial proficiency check of each
instructor before he/she is used in an approved course of
instruction and, thereafter, at least once each twelve months
·
Monitor, update & schedule aircraft maintenance
